Such a great place to enjoy an authentic Mexican meal. The barbacoa is SOOO good and the burritos were delicious as well. Now you MUST have the biscuits – I know you’re thinking biscuits?? right? You will thank me when you try them. I would go there just for those biscuits alone. For sure I will go back when I’m in the area and I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
On our second trip to Valle de Guadalupe this past December, my wife and I wanted to explore more local spots, and Parador Mercedes completely exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed—the atmosphere is warm and inviting, with a charming, rustic feel that fits perfectly with the valley’s relaxed vibe.
We started with a fresh cup of coffee, and from there, everything just got better. The benedict eggs were hands down some of the best we’ve ever had—The hollandaise was silky and rich, and bursting with flavor. They were hand made tortillas for my wife, even more delicious. We also tried mexican barbacoa, and the flavor was undeniable. The flavors were bright, balanced, and reminded us why Baja is famous for its wine and food.
And then… the biscuits. We weren’t expecting them to be such a highlight, but they were phenomenal—golden, buttery, and soft on the inside. They came with house-made jam, which added the perfect touch of sweetness. Honestly, we’d come back just for those!
The service was also worth mentioning—everyone was genuinely friendly and attentive without being overbearing. You can tell they care about what they do, and it makes the experience even more special.
This place is a true hidden gem. If you’re in Valle de Guadalupe, El Mesón de Mercedes is a must-visit. We’re already looking forward to our next trip back! 🌿🍷
